If US hit inside China then there was going to be retaliation against the Vassals who allow the US military to operate in their countries, for every power plant destroy in China 10 will be destroy in the vassals states, for every industry 10 will be destroy outside China, this has been the playbook for decades. Rigth now I think they have enough firepower to set entire pacific on fire for a few years. From my understanding over the years I think China don´t respond nice to threats they take it really seriously from whoever come from.
