The are going to do a tax hike that could hit economic growth to...pay for expensive US weapons. They are going to take money out the population to give it to the US industrial complex. .China spends 1.2% of its GDP on defense, nothing increases Chinese nationalism moods more than Japan's arming. China has ample pockets, if Japan increases the spending from 1% to 2%, China's increase by half percent would be a worse deal for Japan than the current balance of 1.2% to 1%.
Indeed, they sit down and think "It was surely the right decision if thye're writing posts like this pretending like they're being concerned about the wellbeing of Japanese people".Do anyone in Japan sit and thought, "do we really need to expend this much money or we can efficientize our procurement program to get the best out it?"

Don't China has 1.7% rather than 1.2% of GDP as military expenditure?
They know the rules ...Eitherway, it seems like Japan wants to be more than just a passive player in Taiwan drama.
Another historic self-own by the USA or Japan. Just 18B is absolutely nothing with the defense industry Japan has. They just removed one of the dilemmas of the PRC and gave it a propaganda point that will be very useful in Asia.China spends 1.2% of its GDP on defense, nothing increases Chinese nationalism moods more than Japan's arming. 2022 Defence budget = 1.45 T RMB
China's 2022 GDP will be about 120T RMB, in 2021 it was about 114T.
That's about 1.21% of the GDP for the defense budget in China.
