I'm not sure if primer colour is necessarily decisive, because for all we know that may just be the primer colour that all recent SAC built aircraft use these days.
A good way to verify would be if we had any pictures within the last few years of J-16s under construction and their primer colour
True, but recently (just now, in fact) someone posted a pic that is allegedly KJ-600 in flight accompanied by a flanker, and it also has green primer

edit: just in good measure, here's the pic I was refering to

Yes, and we also had previous satellite images confirming that KJ-600 had green primer.

But my point is that if we want a convincing reason for why we think the new pictures is of J-XY/J-35 and not just FC-31 (or a "variant"), then I think the colour of its primer is not a very convincing reason and rather it is the combination of recent rumours and the chase plane and open landing gear that are much more significant.

J35 is relatively small, it seems that ws10 has not been replaced.

J-XY/J-35 was never intended to use WS-10 (to use WS-13 or WS-19 dimension engine, which is smaller than WS-10).

And we always expected it would be of similar size to FC-31 and smaller than a J-20 or a Flanker.

We always welcome new members, but with the new J-20S and J-XY developments, can I advise that new members do some background reading first, or at least write certain posts as questions rather than assertions..
