I don't quite understand why it has a canopy like F-35B which would impact the aft view seriously.

Increased volume to accommodate increased fuel/repositioning of avionics seems like a plausible reason to me.

With the way that air combat is going, a direct rearward view by turning one's head using mk 1 eyeballs is probably not quite as important as it once was.

To an extent, but I don't really want to go into the details of future air combat in this thread.

But in general, the ability to physically turn one's head backwards to look back with your own biological eyeballs is not that important these days, nor going forwards.

So how many years are expected until low rate initial production (LRIP)? And how many would be produced yearly under LRIP?

• 2-3 years until LRIP?
• 5-10 planes/year under LRIP?

Starting in 2024, should we expect 5-10 jets being produced annually?
