Russia is doing huge trade with China in areas like oil and natural gas, so dont worry about money for Russia, they'll make it up soon.

Russia can always go to India, especially the AL-41F is a 3-D TVD engine, China getting it over India is rather lucky, since Russia gives better stuff to India than China...:(

The J-XX most likely would have SOME stealth-shape instead of all to reduce cost, probably carry at least 12 missiles and use plasma stealth, or better yet, use plasma stealth to make an enemy missile lose control and miss and flip the switch off after the missile fails, maybe Russia did THAT instead

The J-XX having the AL-41F engine is a good start, plasma stealth option from Russia along with the shape-stealth gives China a better start than the US did with the Raptor, so you will never know

plasma stealth look good in theory and paper but there is alot of applicability issues and concerns. the plasma cloud are known to 'light up'; it could cancel off radar but it increases your visual signature at the same time. there has been no success in maintaining the plasma at supersonic speed to back the claim off being near deployable status.

the PAKFA concept shows a stealthy frame design with some similiar to the YF-22/23, if the plasma stealth alternative is credible, i doubt they would waste the afford to studying stealthy frame design now.

US stealth concept is a mature technology, it is not difficult to develop a stealthy airframe using computers. so long as you are willing to accept the higher production and maintance cost required for utilizing such technology. if china could build a ship, why not a plane? :nono: (well, excluding the engine, radar and meat... :rofl: )

i think all countries interested in plasma stealth should first devcelop a stealth shaped fighter with ram. its more conventional, and saves time in the long run. wait untill the russians adopt the plasma and see it can live up to its promise...

but i doubt it. plasma seems too much like a "perfect solution" for a long standing problem. in most cases, these solutions aare quacks.

well as far as i know the russian has a limited money
so limited they havent started it yet:D

so they would welcome nations who want to join them

russia asked to india to join , still no reply from india

china can join if they want to , but i think it will be better if they join

one thing is that it will be easy to joing but not making it, even if china have the money.

well the problem is that if russia wants to start it , they also need to sell them, not a cheap ac,

Sorry .... onca agoin wrong !

The first is a "What-if" concept drawn by a very talented artist called LEGO ... and has nothing to do with a real project ! He drew many more What-if" projects like that ... and I really miss his pictures !

The second is a computer generated image which should look like the Shenyang XXJ-proposal !

yes, we like the info on the f-22, but perhaps if u liked to do some reasearch on russian equivalents, and its much less impressive. and this is not the f-22 thread. this love affar wit f-22 has to end!!

the mig-1.44 and su-47 have many of the same features as f-22, and some things it doesnt. i u think about it, things such as tvc, hms, pdr, were all fitted on russian fighters years ago.

i dont think that the jh-7 pic is reliable. its made by a guy named lego. according the keypublishingaviation, hes just a guy in nevada who spends his time drawing pla pics with no realistic backing.

and friedriceandspice, chill it. i didnt bring up russian fifth gen fighters. and making a post just to say something like that is even more off topic!:mad:

I'm kind of curious if the J-XX design will incorporate a duality of air-air and air-ground. Does anybody know if China is looking at this program as one of an air superiority type only?

the issue of J-XX is a complex one, because there are at least two major programs going on at the same time. One will be geared to do what F-35 does, so more multiroled. And the other one will be geared to do what F-22 does, so an air superiority type. That's just the ones that are speculated. There are also many different design ideas floated around. It's hard to say which ones China will follow.
