Why China did not send J-10 to foreign air shows much? Cause China doesn't send its planes to foreign air shows for publicity. They come to zhuhai and changchun airshows to watch.
China send L-15 and JF-17 through UAE Pakistan. UAE used L-15 in the the air show extensively. While PAF bring in JF-17 thunder. UAE has enough F-16s those are J-10CEs. J-35 were did demo in Changchun Air show. Now it's being in production run, not really needed to show off.

On the contrary, I very much enjoy China's way of being this "dark horse" that doesn't flaunt anything or does pointless publicity at air shows (though I won't deny that seeing Sino Flankers or other jets at these shows would be an amazing sight); instead you find out about their capabilities, and how good the tech is (J-10CE/PL-15 practically smoked Europe's prized 4.5th gen offering), when you use it in combat..... from like 10 years ago. I shudder to imagine what their most advanced platforms would be capable of, hopefully we never find out honestly. Lesson learned on May 7th, China makes some darn good stuff.

What's wrong with publicity at airshow?Weapons are just like any other products China exports,it's a business. Chinese companies are actively participating all kinds of shows worldwide to promote it's product, even at fairs where Chinese companies are being visa restricted such CES show. So why shouldn't Chinese defence companies follow suit?

China is much busy in testing and producing J-35A/35, J-20A, Y-20B/YY-20B, JL-10/L-15, J-36, J-50, naval versions, New trainers/hellos/Y-30/50 and UAVs. So PLAAF is content with air exhibitions in China. They have enough future customers,

Airshow publicity is Marketing for profit. And for Western aircraft and weapon manufacturers, it means huge profit. China's aircraft manufacturers are selective in choice of customers, usually friendly nations and profit margins are thin compare to the West where they are willing to spend huge marketing expenses in airshows in order to gain huge profits.

Western manufacturers will go all out to have their wares sold, and always with fat kickbacks.

China also offer friendly costs, with very little profits, to customers like Pakistan, Cambodia and Laos for military aircraft. Profit is important, but not the top priority as far as China is concern. Though for COMAC, it is different, as they are commercial company for profit, thus their relatively large presence in Dubai 2025.

Zhuhai airshow is partly for marketing, partly to show China's progress, and partly for Chinese citizens' patriotism. And Changchun airshow is mostly for patriotism with little marketing to sell aircraft.

Pardon me if I misunderstood the post, but J35 (or J35A for that matter) didn’t participate in the Changchun Airshow, although it did briefly appear last year at Zhuhai
