Hi,
with all those multi million dollars of money on spy crafts, satellites
and other Human Resources including monitoring defence forums
it’s really a miracle for SAC and China to hide the J35 from the praying
eyes around the world and about to be inducted soon, really amazing
anyone have any idea about the production capacity to produce these
in coming months or a year timeline
thank you
That's why THEY are hoping to recruit you(if you're Chinese) and me for a job with the CIAor MI6 or CSIS to spy on the Motherland since we can enter unnoticed racially and speak the language and are comfortable with the customs but no dice am not hanjian just a law-abiding productive citizen-anywhere.

So it remains to be seen whether the Alpha variant has the full DAS that the naval version is supposed to have.

There seems to be openings for the sensors but it looks like the sensors themselves and the EOTS might not have been installed.

I'm not sure if "lighting difference" sufficiently explains why only the upper tip of the tail is darker.

Looking at older photos of the FC-31 and J-35 prototypes, I see the upper tip of the tail had been painted in a dark tone.

Of course, it's possible one tail was painted with a dark tip, but the other tail wasn't.

Quickly summarizing some of the interesting things said about J35A in today's stream by Yankee, Shilao and Ayi.:
  • This unit at the airshow shouldn't be the first production unit delivered to PLAAF.
  • Don't be surprised if J35As are not as fully equipped as the naval J35 to keep the cost down.
  • J20's current production rate is basically maxed out. Along with the development of 6th gen, CAC's burden is too heavy right now.
  • PLAAF is still looking forward to expand the scale of its fleet while improving fleet quality.
Obviously they also talked about a lot more stuff, I suggest anyone that's interested to watch it if you can. Sounds like PLAAF is simply looking for a cheaper 5th gen that can quickly improve the scale of PLAAF's 5th gen fleet. They mentioned that PLAN want the max spec version of J35 since it's the only 5th gen they'll have, and they only need so many jets. However for PLAAF, they are not looking for J35A to do all things J20 can do (at least AA wise). They also talked about the importance of having such a type of multi-role stealth aircraft at improving PLAAF's stratigic capabilities. The sheer number of 5th gen is more important to PLAAF than a lot of people thought, and they want it as soon as possible.

Thus my personal guess would be: J35A simply used most of the mature stuff that have already been tested on J35 prototypes and FC31 demonstrators. Don't forget J35A is mostly the same as FC31 2.0 aerodynamic wise, which has been flying for years, and the changes such as the shape at the back of the canopy is something tested on J35 already. Electronic wise it might simply be the same thing or even lower spec version of J35. Thus we can't view its testing period as if it's a new jet that first flight last year. It's basicly an almost mature product off the shelf from AVIC.
Is there a way to translate these streams and videos, they always have great info but I always have to wait for someone to translate it on here.

You could use some auto translation browser extension (if you can find the original videos, of course), but since Mandarin's grammar is drastically different from English, usually they don't work that well. As for manual translation, sadly I doubt anyone would be willing to spend the time and effort to do that within such a small community, as these streams and podcasts are usually hours long.

So I guess there isn't really a good way to watch these if you can't speak Chinese, unfortunately.

And in case if you are interested:
As for the original videos, although they stream on Bilibili for free, the stream archives are on their official site, and requires subscription to watch (the site is kind of crappy even if you can speak Chinese). You can find pirated versions but I won't provide any links for those, obviously. They do post the podcasts and some stream archives on Bilibili (if the stream contains sponsorships), but the experience would be horrible if you don't have an account, and the website is all Chinese, so... For most that don't speak Chinese, I would say it's simply not worth the effort.

J35A certainly seems to be missing at least one EODAS window seen on the J35:

So who would likely be J-35 customers? Finally US will likely sell its F-35 to gulf countries, now since J-35 is exhibited. Apart from Pakistan which other nation might be interested? Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Algeria, Bangladesh?
