It certainly looks too short. The distance between the vertical stabilizers and the canopy is a bit odd.... but isn't the J-35's front fuselage looking a bit too wide or too short in comparison to the real one?

I don't think the T-45 has folding wings either. Carriers on training duties are much less deck space sensitive on top of the trainers being smaller planes. From the photos the JL-10J is barely wider than the J-15B folded and is also much shorter.I'm guessing that since the JL-10J mock-up doesn't have the wings folded, the real thing won't have foldable wings either?.
