A bit closer, perhaps. As every subsequent prototype may have some refinements. But time schedule wise, it's too early for this airframe to be a pre-serial, near mass production standard one.
Are these two units close-to/nearing the production model of J-35?
We don't know if the pictures depict "two units" (two airframes) -- it could be just different pictures of the same single airframe.
It could also be the same prototype we saw pictures of that first flew mid/late last year.
We also don't know how recent these pictures actually are. They could have been taken months ago but only released now.

However, even with the initial pictures of the first unpainted J-XY/35 prototype from last year (below) -- we could see that it was fitted with certain features that makes it seem closer to a near-standard prototype rather than a technology demonstrator.
From this first original clear image below, IMO it was sufficient for us to determine that it was probably closer to the 201X series of prototypes for J-20, rather than the 200X series of tech demonstrators for J-20.
