I must say that I saw this coming. And, in this case, I agree that it was necessary. It's too bad that the excitement and enthusiasm generated by seeing the first pics of the J-20, which, had -at one point- over 300 viewers in the Air Force forum, has devolved into "I'm smarter than you" debates. None of us "knows" any more about this aircraft or it's planned uses than any other. Can't we just have fun offering our interpretations of what might be?

This is the 2000th post for this thread ... really amazing ... in a very short time

I was noticing that a wahile back and wondering if tis might have been the most active period ever for this forum.

I must say that I'm a little disappointed that the intensity wasn't maintained by more new pics and some first flight video or pics. We were going at quite a clip there for a while.

This will happen when any subject is hot. It may pick up again. There are many other subjects that can be discussed in this forum.. Just do a search. I'm sure you will find something of interest to yourself.

Just making a guess based on A. Man's picture; since the wing and the fuselage are perpendicular to each other, I can guess that the wingspan is about 20m, based on the known length of the J-20.

The Shenyang J-16 is more like the Sukhoi T-50 PAK-FA than it is like the Flanker, except the air intakes

I would actually say especially the air intakes. Neither this supposed "J-16" nor PAK-FA's intakes are integrated in the body of the plane but stick out instead.

where did you get J-16 from? I don't know of any official next generation program other than J-20 right now.
