Any info where this "thing" was taken ???

Could be simply a mock-up, a theme-pak model or something similar simple ??? ... I can't think that SAC will travel its future stealthy fighter simply thru the streets.

Or is that an L-15 trainer ???

Anway interesting,
Deino

According to CJDBY, this picture was taken beside the highway from Shengyang to Huludao. Mostly likely it's a mock-up, but not for the theme-park(otherwise there is no need for those guards).

Found this one on Weibo 42 minutes ago, something may happen in Shenyang in a few months.

Whoa. very weird. It has no vertical stabilizers (why?), is totally covered by that camouflage, and it looks like its pretty heavy, needing a heavy truck like that. This is no ordinary mock-up plane. Also the "plane" is in a strange position, and in a strange place to park that thing.

who knows that this thing is?

Well it obviously lacks tails and horizontal stabilizers because it would make it harder to travel. Or maybe it's being sent to a place where other subcontractors were building the other parts for final assembly.

And I think it's in the weird angle because otherwise it would be too wide for the road. As for the parking lot, we don't quite know how long it was there for. Maybe the drivers just stopped for a toilet break.

Check the shenyang new gen fighter thread, that's where the heavy discussion's at.

Well, is it possible that the bicycle guy was actually the J-20 test flight pilot, who just wanted to have a change now and then....

tru dat!

It looks like the thing is without its cockpit canopy too, no reason why they couldn't put it on if it was just a mock-up

So the scoop is this is a Shenyang prototype/mock up of a new fighter?

Dunno but I'm more inclined to believe that way.

I think everyone should discuss about the new plane over at the other thread and leave this to the J-20.

The vertical surface/s were removed for ease of transportation, the thing seat in an angle is also for transportation reasons - if it seats leveled it'd take up more traffic lanes or would have difficulty going through gates, stuff like that; but what interest me is that the wing is pretty small, wings on current combat jets are bigger.

Then looking at the size of humans in the pic for comparison, the plane is closer in size and shape to the L-15.

Well that wraps up my off-topic venture here, let's get back to Project 817 / "J-20"...
