Well, I love the F-22. It looks like a butterfly to me, beatiful and graceful... just no sigh of being a slaughter machine whatsoever, which I hope it remains so. But to say it's the most advanced fighter, I need to put in an attributive clause behind it: It's the most advanced 5th gen. figher that has been inducted so far.

I can't see the bump right behind the canopy. Is it still there?

With the overpriced fat bird called F-35 become even more overpriced day by day, anyone want to make a guess of the cost of a J-20 once it is enter full production?

Some rumors says the first two prototype of J-20, cost roughly 100 million USD each.

On one side, thats without expensive radars and electrioncs, and with 2 downgraded jet engines.

However, the other side of story is that prototype batch are usually more expensive than these enter production with similar configurations since many parts of the former, including tools for them are hand-made and hand-modified.

Actually I think this bump was only seen since a panle was moved back ...

Anyway it's just as exciting like when the first images of 2001 appeared.

I think there are not really gone but maybe now they simply close after landing !??!

Probably, and during takeoff too to reduce drag?

tech cost and development cost are easy guess, hovers around 100-120mil

the hard question will be how many J-20s will China produce, and how that production number will affect total and unit cost

When it it's mass production, I'll say about $150 million per plane.
