If Russian claims about the Sukhoi T-50 multirole fighter are true, then the country that has made do with Soviet-era arms for the past two decades is poised to roar into the 21st century with a cutting-edge weapons system that is so advanced and complex that only the US has been able to field one.

China recently tested its own version of a stealth fighter, but Russian experts say China's J-20 lacks many characteristics of the so-called fifth-generation warplanes, which are known for sustained supersonic cruise, over-the-horizon radar visibility, integrated weapons and navigation systems managed by artificial intelligence, and high-performance frames made from space-age materials.

Zelin also said that Russia’s T-50 outstripped its U.S. and Chinese analogues.

“After a comparative analysis of the fighter’s characteristics with the U.S. F-22 Raptor and Chinese J-20 stealth aircraft, we can conclude that PAK FA exceeds the foreign analogues in maximum speed, flight range, maximum takeoff weight and the maximum overload value,” Zelin added.

I'm not doing to believe an info graphic that doesn't even use the right silhouette for the comparison, and contradicts the news being quoted. I'm also not going to believe the claims of the news links themselves, since they not only make grand claims without any technical specifics, but also sound just as biased as any marketing speak that every nation uses for its military equipment.

that is the official russian view, if it is right or wrong is up to the reader, only time will say, but remember all nations have an idea of their own weapons and foreign ones

Chinese aerospace experts are similarly reserved in their assessments of the T-50. Considering that China, too, is reportedly developing a stealthy fighter, Chinese opinions on the T-50 could be revealing. One Chinese expert told the press that T-50 “could hardly compete” with the F-22, according to China Military Report.

Exactly and as such we all know that You are more than in love with the T-50. It is the best, the fastest, the most modern and heavily armed fighter to be fielded in the near future ... following Russian sources, Your belief and most of all General Zelin !

As such again PLEASE stop posting these comparative, overlong, more than boring reports, charts and diagrams, which are often from highly questionable sources. This is always ending in a "Go Fish" or "mine is longer" contest and I think I beg You to stop this quite often.

Take this as a warning ... otherwise a short break to reconsider will follow !

what Zelin claims is the official Russian air force opinion, your opinion or mine won`t change that fact, Zelin is just saying what the Russian think officially about the T-50, what you or me believe is a personal opinion.
Zelin`s opinion represents the Russian air force brass opinion, at least publicly, if they are wrong or right History will show us

No You are not wrong if You post news on the J-20 and You even don't break the rules if they migt be from Russian sources, but each time You post such a "news" You add this with additional text, photos, diagrams and so on, which have nothing to do with the J-20 but only to proove Your belief in the T-50's superiority ... and that's annoying since with the link or news You post it's up to everyone else here to make up his own mind.

Mig-29...If you want to discuss the Russian T-50 that's fine. This thread is about the J-20. This forum does not allow comparison threads. This is done to prevent useless arguments..We do not want this thread to become a comparison thread.

well okay, i understand what you mean, just a last point, the picture of infographics is from 2012, from Novosti, it is news, not added by me, all text are quotations from Zelin. if you mean we do not want to compare the jet with any other jet, then i understand.

But remember it was Zelin not me who said J-20 was not up to T-50 standards, and true i know why the Russians say that, however, if Russian Air Force Commander Col. Gen. Alexander Zelin says his opinion all of you can not blame me for his words But okay i got your point
