i'd think he did. if u think about it now, it's not coincidental that the earlier days the plane didn't fly. those were the rehearsals, and for lower level staffs. this time is the real one.

Well personally I think this is not, in fact, the first flight. Domestic engines were the ones used. The plane with Russian engines must have flown prior to this.

probably to test the airframe. and this new engine probably also tested prior, so they're all confident of it this time
