What is YJ-98(N) ? new missile ?

By YJ-98, I was referring to the AKF-98A spotted in Zhuhai last month:

From what we do know, the AKF98A is a stealthy air-to-ground standoff missile. I saw some on Baidu who gave AKF98A another designation of "YJ-98" (鹰击98), so I just followed through with the latter.

The bracketed "N" is just my own way of referring to the anti-ship variant of said missile (i.e. Chinese counterpart of LRASM), in case the PLAAF/PLAN do have such variant.

Is there even any indication J-20 can work in anti ship role?

I always thought that was just some very fanciful theories early in development that believed its main mission would be to fly out to shoot at carrier groups.

But afaik the J-20 can't carry that many nor very good anti ship missiles. Its just optimised for A2A and not much else.

There is no "evidence" per say for J20 in other role besides A2A, but the reasonable assumption is yes, it should be able to.

Reasons for such assumption are quite simple:
Is it a valuable capability? yes.
Is it something with insurmountable tech barrier? does not seem to be.
Is it a very expensive capability? probably not.

i honestly think there is probably a a2g/maritime strike weapon developed for J20's internal bay, but we are not aware of it yet, just as we werent aware of YJ98 two months ago.

Hi
just a little offtopic hourly iil get away from this why we all discussing J20 as a air to ground role in it do we have
F35/ been as a anti ship role if not then it’s a a role for F18 like wise J15/J16 or to some extent Jh7 so J20 will clear the path or in future J35 and rest of the role can be taken by J15/16 two other kind of planes
just a calculated thought
thank you

F35 can carry SDB2 and JSM in its internal bay for strike mission, including maritime strike

and i think we should stop thinking gen5 aircraft as “elite force" so their role is limited to just kicking door or clearing path. As your opponent's capability evolve, you need to evolve together.

In high intensity conflict, LO may become important for a fighter to survive in a much extended period of time, instead of just at the beginning.

You can check it out by yourself. Oneninety was one of the acc that retweeted.
I have checked it out myself, and frankly, I'm scratching my head here. The original poster doesn't even mention WS-15, neither do the re-tweets by 'credible' observers. The only place where WS-15 is mentioned is in the comment section, where some random people think this is the WS-15 testbed.

I hardly care who you consider as credible.
Who said you should care about whom I regard as credible? Where did that come from? Speaking of what you should care about, accuracy should be on top of that list.
