Indeed, and in fact if you look closely, then this panel is indeed there on all - since it was apparently planned to have a gun once - but covered and only the yellow one numbered 2022 actually had one installed.,
do you have a larger image for 2022? i have a slight larger one but not big enough to tell if that is a gun or just a cover/seal in black color
plus, where is the heat/gas/smoke exhaust if that is a gun pod? F-35A has a much larger exhasut, F-22 even has a movable cover which open during fire

You are crazy! The workmanship is superb.
Idk if it's a craftsmanship issue. I just noticed that panels on the F-35 seem to be seamless except for panels that have some electronic or function. Rivets are very apparent on the J-20 when the F-35 hides them. I don't know if it's a big deal.

The rivets on F-35 as I understand them are covered, however one of the other major stealth fighters of the world that to this day is still superior to F-35 in signature management -- the F-22 -- also has rivets superficially exposed from an external, visual perspective.

J-20s' fit and finish, or flushness and gap are only better than Americans. The black lines that you talked about are seals or "special material" protectors for corners of opening parts. https://www.sinodefenceforum.com/at...be43fd1137dfa2-tplv-obj-4071-2574-jpg.101422/

To be fair that F-22 on the left is one of the earliest ones so it's at a disadvantage.

But anyway, that finish on the J-20 seem as good as any.
