On the subject of f35 aggressor squadrons, shilao podcast actually talked about it recently. They made a point of mentioning that us military uses f16 and super hornet as aggressors to represent su57. Which just shows what USAF thinks of the stealth level of j20 vs su57. They also mentioned that j20 flight performance requirements are higher than that of f35, especially in supersonic. They also seem to be quite confident about j20 finding f35 when they interact around south and east china sea. Given that both aircraft fly with luneberg lens out, I am not sure if they should be so confident.

Who knows, they might have recorded the F35 without its luneberg lenses out.

Even if not, they might have really good confidence in their anti-stealth radars or just confidence in their radars in general.

Not to mention, they most likely have studied and put more effort into anti-stealth than the US.

Su-57 was explicitly designed to have to have an operating mode for deep strike missions where they add more coatings to decrease RCS.
This is not typically used. For example typically panel gaps in the Su-57 are not covered. But in the deep strike configuration those are covered with tape. The F-35 is supposed to operate with the tape covering the gaps all the time.

Indeed, and I have a feeling that China has a surprise for F35 operators in this regard. I thought that China could sell a radar capable of detecting F35s to a country that is threatened by them (thus having a security imbalance, that China can balance).

If it became clear, this way, that F35s can suddenly be detected then many calculations would have be be re-thought.

The best time to do this is when you have a competing product on the market, and available for delivery before an F35 would be.

War can be avoided if there is a massive loss of confidence in key US weapons systems.

To the best of my knowledge F-35 doesn’t use retractable lunesburg lens. They would know if those were carried.

Tape??

They apply thicker RAM coatings in case they need to. These can be applied on the field in an airbase without going back to the factory.
These RAM coatings are higher performance but don't last that long against surface wear so they are typically not used in peace time.
