The twin seater is definitely for UAV swarms and commanding loyal wingman units. J-20 is an air superiority fighter and not a ground striker or attack plane. It has no need to weapons officer and even if it were, it still has no need for weapons officer. Computers have taken over that role...

Basically, the most likely role is as an enhanced battle management fighter that includes UAV control capabilities.
Conversion trainers don't make sense for 5th gen aircraft given modern training syllabuses and LIFTs available.

Someone on Reddit mentioned that the single seat J-20's have stopped production. I found it odd since it had quite a few up votes. I can't find anything like this?

This is very interesting, all planes look great as a twin seater, especially like Su-57 and J-20. Su-57 canopy resembles to Su-30, good work who made this.

Neither Russia nor America have one yet am I right? What is the development timeline for J20S?

Well.. the B-2 is twin seater, are you talking fighter only ? I don't think the A-12 avenger II got a flying prototype...

The generation classification only applies to fighter aircraft.
