We suspected it is for formation keeping in certain airshow flights since they only ever appear on these sorts of occasions.

Some of the new pictures seem to show fluids coming from the engines on the underside of the aircraft. Is this what happened on the Russian engine powered versions as well? If it is happening what does it do to the stealth coatings?
