These periodic bursts of smoke are typical of aircraft flying formation, where the wingmen constantly adjust their throttles to match the leader's speed. I suspect the pilot in that video was simply trying to accurately maintain a specific entry speed for his display, leading to the same effect.

A peek at the cockpit. I'm not sure, but I think I see what could be the top edge of a large MFD. Make sure you zoom in.

Awesome photos, but boy are the demo routines boring so far. I hope they eventually come up with a signature demo move for this aircraft.

What are those 4 rounded elongated shapes at the bottom of back of the large wings? Would'nt they be bad for RCS?
