Are you sure that it is smoke and not heat distortion by the engine exhaust? To the best of my knowledge no WS-10 variant ever emitted smoke, not even the downrated ones first used on the J-11B.
Have looked at the video twice from 12 to 15 secs... Looks like smoke... appears at least twice first at around 12 sec and then at 15 sec in the video... Can any one else have a look and comment on that @Bltizo @Deino

Light will be distorted by turbulence in air. A jet engine expels host gas in much higher speed than the ambient air. High temperature and flow speed create different refractive index than static and low temperature air. The distortion will make the exhaust gas looks either lighter or darker. Therefor different shade behind aircraft does not necessarily mean smoke which is incomplete burn of fuel. And from a long distance you won't be able to tell the difference even if it is indeed smoke.

Also from my observation, the phenomenon is more visible at extreme maneuver such as a sharp turn, I believe that is because of the violent disturbance of air, not because the engine in a split of second is chocked of oxygen.
