Can China donate them to North Korea? Why does China have so many obsolete airplanes in it's inventory? I understand in early 2000's and early 2010's this was the case, but now it's 2020's bro.
How many J-7 and J-8 do they still have? They can still be used for patrolling over Taiwan province.

Text from the Weibo post:

Rough Translation:
Recently, director Cheng Yufeng of 607 led a team to visit Chengdu and presented a commemorative banner to thank Chengdu's strong support for 607's radar development. Chengdu and 607 pledge to deepen mutual cooperation and continue to innovate together for future projects, and so on and on. The banner says something along the lines of "Eagle's sharp eyes accompany the Might Dragon, together strive for new innovations".

Of course, Mighty Dragon could well refer to J-20, and 607 is the party responsible for either the existing radar or perhaps a future upgrade.

How long was the last time between when we've seen cartoons of J-20 WS-10, and real photos appeared?

Same artist did a cartoon of J-20 with two missiles in each side bay but we’ve never seen that in real life. But to answer your question, I think it was a few months.

ps: the artist implies that it is the WS-15 engine @Deino.

ps: multiple eye witnesses in Chengdu have spotted the plane takeoff and fly around the city. Apparently one of them took a photo of the front of the plane and there has been some changes to the DSI inlets. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find the image.
