Well, yes I'm not doubting what you've said is not true. And it was my thought too. BUT, I did remember reading this over thirty years ago. (It's all from memory).

From what I read the writer did wrote it was following Soviet training techniques but it was also to preserve fuel. Don't forget China was dirt poor and with embargoes and all that.

Also, the writer showed the number of flying hours per pilot in the PLA and compares this with the Soviets and US. And it's not pretty reading for the PLA. It was only a fraction of those of their counter part in the USAF.

Dark Sword and J-20 are both stealthy twin tail canard deltas, so from that distance J-20 could certainly be mistaken for Dark Sword given both basically look the same if one lacks the pixels.


But for the purposes of anyone else thinking it might be, I want to point out categorically those aircraft cannot be dark sword and there is no benefit in entertaining the idea.

The saying if "when you hear hooves, think horses not zebras" applies here but in this case it might be better written as "when you hear hooves, think horses not centaurs" given how mythical a status the dark sword presently still remains.

All the aircrafts that went into focus were very clearly J-20s. Including the last one. Operational Dark Sword wouldn't be revealed by accident on a commercial pilot's phone cam.

don't want to be sexist, but lots and lots of Chinese women are like that, especially in Shanghai and Hong Kong. Seems like fancy toys like the J-20, J-31, C919, high-speed EMUs, vaccines, etc. failed to make them proud of their country. I also wonder why these worshippers tend to come from middle class and relatively rich families as opposed to the countryside. Anyway time to get back to the topic and sorry about the casual talks.

Take a close look. They're all J-20s; 暗剑 has a wider profile than the J-20 and a different canard alignment. Moreover, the J-20 is distinguishable by its tailbooms.
