In Yankeesama’s latest talkshow (towards the end where they started dissing F-35 block 4 upgrade delays) they confirmed that the detection range on J-20A’s radar is x00 against standard RCM targets and the number is “frightening”.

I'm pretty sure they instead said the "performance was increased by X00 percent".

I think you are right. But I don’t think it will be four digit in any case. There is still the curvature of the earth to account for.

Did they mention anything about range against LO flying wings & missiles.

They claim J-20A's radar was designed for combat against F-35 Blk IV.

Like others are asking, what is RCM? And is it a range much over 400km feasible in real life due to the curvature? If that figure would be for a RCS of under 1 sqm (0.5 or even 0.1 sqm) though, that would indeed be scary for an opponent.

For China it is usually 3-5 m^2.

Obviously they didn’t give exact stats but it increased by several hundred percent against an already high baseline. They took full advantage of the advances in power generation and heat management.

It'd be nice to have some hints about performance vs those sets of targets which are usually much more challenging for high frequency fighter radars than fighter sized/shaped objects, F-35s included.
