I would take this with a pinch of salt, because as we all know, even state media does not always use "true numbers" and can sometimes recycle public/non-official numbers for TV segment purposes. Sometimes even specific terms are used incorrectly.
The idea of J-20 being able to supercruise at credible speeds beyond Mach 1 isn't a surprise, so imo this doesn't change anything regardless. I just would be cautious of viewing it as "confirmation" of anything.
