I need to check at home but it seems, he is misquoting the report since Rick specifically mentioned my previous estimate about 208 based on the earlier estimate - with each block again starting with 01 - is wrong and now the xx number is sequential.

By the way, is there a reason - besides being a German - to call me "Rep Hitler" (via Google translation) or is this a wrong
‘Rep Hitler’ is a kind of little offensive nickname:)

In some ACG groups of China, 雷普 is a kind of word to indicate ‘Rape’, just because sounds similar…but in this case, feel the person just thinks it is funny…the post generally is very appreciative of your article, except the J-35 part.

The three of them (Shilao, Ayi and Yankee) spoke at length today in their podcast about Rick Joe's article as well as the going between among Chinese and foreign military watchers. For the article they spoke positively of it and didn't find anything that they would object at. The consider the tone of the article a bit like a popular science article - ie intended to give the reader a quick overview of the subject. Which when the subject is J-20 should be considered positive given the preconceived notions people have about PLAAF aircraft (that of being inferior Russian clones).

Interestingly they singled out this part:
Recent credible rumors in late June of this year stated more explicitly that J-20 production had already exceeded that of the United States’ F-22 (187 airframes), which was once predicted in past years as something that would not occur before the year 2027.
Ayi suggested to Yankee that these credible rumours must be referring to

Yankee said it couldn't be referring to him because he release that article at the start of July.

I do recall Yankee saying this again in the stream they did 3 days later, specifically he repeated the claim that if it wasn't for end of production of basic model soon due to WS-15 the basic model could eventually reach twice F-22 numbers.

For the go between among Chinese and foreign military fan they urge caution. Their opinion is there is no shortage of people in this hobby that seek validation with foreign sources (ie it's not enough that we say J-20 is really good, it must be a foreigner who knows his stuff who says J-20 is good before it's actually good) and no matter how friendly they seem they should be considered potential security risk.

Thrilling account of missile test malfunction during J-20’s weapons testing phase. The warhead detonated prematurely by 200 m and if it weren’t for the immediate evasive maneuver, fragments from the warhead could’ve struck the aircraft!
WOW. 200 meters, 0.5 seconds reaction time. This provides an interesting detail that the J-20 is likely to launch missiles at supersonic speeds.

The ability to open weapons bay during supersonic flight is a requisite for the J-20 as per extrapolation of academic papers, and doing so will expand the missile's flight envelope significantly.

Deino should spend his vacation in China. He should try to rent a appartment overlooking CAC. He should bring top of the line camera's and nightvision equipment to film and photograph everything happening at CAC day and night. He can use AI to enhanced the night time images. He can take note of production numbers. He should pay locals for more information about CAC production activities. And then move on to Shenyang and Xi'an!

Then we finally can have something to talk about on this forum! ;)
