He's talking about WS-15.Interesting comment by Orca (which may be discussed already):

He's saying the online figures for WS-10/15 is pretty overstated. I'm inclined to believe that he's talking about the 15 here.
However, is he credible on engine figures? Comments are saying it's only around F119 level, which is 156 kN. I personally believe it's definitely more. But I'm probably wrong.

He's talking about WS-15.
But only ~156 kN? I'm really doubtful of that figure. He's talking about WS-15.
Okay, fair enough. He did say J-20, not 20A.View attachment 125712
talking about operational J-20s. so he meant WS-10 engine. as WS-15 yet to enter in service.
WS-15 specifications is very secret and nobody knows the exact details.
who told you ? its 156KN. even if we take low estimate, total thrust of WS-15 will be more than 156KN..Figured.
But only ~156 kN? I'm really doubtful of that figure.
I get that WS-15 probably focuses on high speed performance and efficiency, but surely it's tad bit more powerful, no?
I'm with you here. For clarification, I used 156 because of the comments under the Weibo post.who told you ? its 156KN. even if we take low estimate, total thrust of WS-15 will be more than 156KN..
WS-15 is a very powerful engine.. even Shilao and Yankee confirmed. will totally transform J-20. more power output to Radar and electronics. So WS-15 does improve on J-20's transonic (or under) performance with higher thrust, correct?
More reassurance... Good to hear.WS-15 is a very powerful engine.. even Shilao and Yankee confirmed. will totally transform J-20. more power output to Radar and electronics.
