At this point I don't even know if she has a gun anymore. While logic dictates that surely she must have one, the truth is we have ZERO evidence of it. At best wild conjectures based on visual guesstimate.

He het a Winchester under the coat as a Cowboy :D

For sensor fusion same problem, different, in a very good specialzied mag with an article about 5th gen fighters and especialy sensor fusion only 3 weeks ago i read all the opposite for J-20, T-50...

And in this link i am lost

Sensor fusion is a computer system that combines data from a number of sensors. That's internal Avionics. A gun though would have structure and shape visible on the outside. with a door that opens to allow for rounds to exit.
If it is intended to lack a gun intently it could use a gun pod but for a stealth that is a compromise. And looking at the underside I don't see indications of a centerline hardpoint instead it looks like weapons bays. If it's not packing a gun at all then It would place this in the Interceptor or bomber role with maybe J31 being the actual fighter.
It could also be that they are just not ready for a gun in which case this is still prototypes and get comfy because J20 is not going into production for a long time.

If it lacks an internal gun that means it was most definitely slated for interceptor role. I just don't see them adding a gun afterward if it wasn't part of the design ala F4E like. It would severely compromise her stealth and reroute major internal plumbings etc.

In my opinion it would be a mistake but what do I know.
I'm not pretending to be smarter than CAC engineers although the original McDD Phantom project team were the brightest minds in the industry too. LOL

Well Later phantoms added a gun system, and though out it's life the F4 had gunpods it's just that the Pod used early on the SU22 was... More area effect.

from a size and weight perspective the two guns of the PLA are either Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-23 or Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-30-1 The Main gun system for the US stealth fighters is the M61A1 Vulcan 20mm cannon with F35 sporting a GAU22 25mm In size and weight Both the Russian designed gun systems are easily less then half the weight of their American counterparts and are in a smaller overall package. So lack of a gun seems to me not to be a weight issue. It could like I said simply be they feel not ready for one yet.

Well, shall we wait a little bit to make the decision on the J-20 gun? Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. One of these days, the PLAAF might decide to show us the J-20 gun... Who knows...

Logically speaking, there should be no reason for them to take out the gun. We all know that the PLA is very conservative. So it's hard for me to believe that they made such a drastic decision to take out the gun, especially that they should be well aware of the F-4 situation. Even if someone made the suggestion to take out the gun during the design phase, they would have been shut down quickly.

Further, their goal from the very beginning has been to challenge the F-22 (not saying anything about the actual capabilities of the two). The F-22 has an internal gun. So it makes sense that the CAC also put a gun on the J-20.
