Question for anyone (if I ignore you, I won't see the answer).
Of all the J-20 prototypes produced, so far, does anyone either know, or believe, that any set, or sets, of two or more, have been identical?
If so, which two or more, or which sets of two or more?

The reason I'm asking is that, for some reason, I think we'll see, at least two, identical prototypes in succession before the program progresses to the nest stage and I'm wondering if there is a precedent for this within the prototype development process.

So far, we haven't seen J-20 in yellow primer outside of the hanger/building. This could mean that J-20 has a different production procedure, I am guessing it is related to the stealthy paint, therefor the future productions may be fully painted before they are rolled out to the tarmac.
BTW, I never really understand why other sierial production aircrafts have to fly with yellow primer, can you tell me why?

If you mean identical by two aircrafts with identical configuration, equipment etc. I am not sure there is any. However, the prototypes are produced in pairs, so the pairs can be seen as "identical" superficially, but we don't know if they are identical inside. For example, 2001 and 2002, 2011 and 2012, 2013 and 2015.
There was a rumor (never verified) that an early prototype was repainted to another penant number. However, even that is true, it is not identical of two but rather the same piece.
So, I incline to say, no there is no identical twins.

Thanks! And, thanks for seeking more clarity. I am asking, specifically about the air-frame. I was thinking 2001 and 2002, myself.
It is hard to say, because even structurally, we cannot tell if any two aircraft are the same or different simply from looking at them from the outside.
There may well have been small modifications between 2001 and 2002, and then successive small modifications between 2011 all the way to 2017.
That would be fairly normal for aircraft at prototype stage, to possibly test out small (note, small) variations in the structure of the aircraft, but just as important is to test out variations in avionics from the flight control system to mission avionics.

Yes indeed ... but my wish was more related to see the different panel lines much better.
Is the EOTS still a place holder at this point? Looks gray to me.
