Looks nice even if it's smoggy.

J-20 short take-off

Interesting that the J7 is marked as F7PG, afaik, only the last batches of J7s delivered to Pakistan were called such. It would seem very strange for Pakistan to be ordering more J7s now that the JF17 is operational. I wonder what this means...

The only thing that comes to mind is maybe the PAF is considering a radar and avionics upgrade of their F7s and move away from the current Italian radar and other western avionics they have installed on their F7s to newer Chinese kit, to both streamline logistics as well as make the F7s fully compatible with the JF17s and new Chinese AWACS.

I wonder if our Pakistani friends have heard anything in that regard.

Well the possibility of induction further F-7PGs are NIL, since PAF is more than satisfied with the performance of JF-17 & their pilots are more than happy with this bird, even there are some quotes that they prefer to fly JF17 instead of F-16 A/Bs.

However, later might be a possibility since PAF is going to keep that 3 SQDs of PGs (around 55 aircrafts) for PN support along with new coming up JF17 SQD for PN soon.

This is simply the old PG-prototype flying around acting for various missions ... like said already: No chance of any new PGs for the PAF.

It is remarkable to see a fighter aircraft whose first prototype flew in 1954 fly from the same runway on the same day as a fighter that first flew in 2011.
The first British strategic bomber, Avro 504, first flown in 1912 and used to attack the airship sheds at Cologne in 1914, was used for electronic reconnaissance over the Channel in 1940. I thought 28 years was a long time.

It's an interesting sight, testament to the aircraft's simplicity and longevity. Imagine if F-104s were acting as chase planes for the F-35 project.

Would be interesting, how a fourth-/third-generation starfighter might look like ! :p
