Amiga or others mentioned on Key Aviation Forums that the J-20 seemed to have inferior vortex generation due to its upper body camber, so the 2011 remedies this issue with the change to its topside. It should result in enhanced maneuverability and high-AOA performance.

On a pure generational basis, the J-20 should be superior to the Rafale and Eurofighter as it's a 5th generation aircraft, while the Rafale and Eurofighter are 4.5th generation aircraft. The combination of stealth and a large radar should allow it to defeat the Rafale and Eurofighter in BVR combat, but the Rafale and Eurofighter may have better performance in WVR.

With the F-22 and F-35, it is a lot harder to tell, however, as they're all same generation fighters.

The F-22 and F-35 are same generation fighters, so it's harder to tell, but it should mostly come down to the fine stealth shaping, the quality of the electronics, namely the radar, and the skill of the pilot.

The Rafale and Eurofighter certainly won't have any advantage in WVR due to its lower thrust to weight ratio. Heck, the J-15 and J-10B would be able to match them, both in BVR and in WVR.

Loaded weight of the J-20 is estimated at between 25000 and 33000 kg. The engines are estimated at between 140kn (WS-10G or Al-41) and 180kn (WS-15 project target), depending on how well the WS-15 project goes. This creates a TWR range between .85 (comparable to F-35) to 1.46 (world record, consider that the latest Flankers tend to be around 1.15).

That means there's a significant chance that the J-20 will have an TWR comparable to the Eurofighter or the Rafale.

Well, I thought we were comparing the jets in their final form, as in with the WS-15 engine installed. In this case then it is better to compare the J-20 with the F-22 in terms of flight performance; the WS-10G is rumored to produce 155 kN instead of 140 kN.

Can't recall the exact specifics of that conversation I had with Amiga, but from what I gathered he wasn't saying it was necessarily inferior, just not as advanced. I do remember that he caveated that discussion by limiting the comments to the domain of aerodynamic theory.

IF the WS-10G exists.

A minor change to note on the 2011 but says more with photo shopped pics is the 2011 has four lamps on the nose gear. 2001 and 2002 had only two.
