Only problem is you can't actually achieve absolute zero, law of thermodynamics!

Correct! also the ideal gas law states that an amount of gas is determined by its pressure, volume, and temperature therefore if T = 0 that means either zero pressure or zero volume or both, which is impossible.

It's probably easier to built plasma ion engines..

yay we are now officially a physics thread.

anyways, are there any correlations between heat and the amount of thrust coming out of it? physics wasn't my major sorry.
and i also am concerned that the attempt to reduce the heat would only mean expending energy further.

I wish we can have a bio/chemical weapon thread... My chemistry and biochem major would be of more use... Or maybe battlefield injury... DoD offers huge funding opportunity for studying battlefield injury and inflammation.

J-20

Looks like J-20 is gaining popularity FAST, surpassed PAK-FA !!!

Not surprising. Russia has already become an "on-the-shelf US archrival" in mass culture, spanning since the Cold War. While fighting Russia was fun, it's overused and overplayed, like those WWII-series shooting games. China's entry in the recent years with its strengthening military and more and more indigenous hardware provides an excellent alternative for basing against the US, or the standard coalition Blue. Furthermore, less and less Chinese hardware could be accused of as "direct ripoff from the Soviets" and more and more taking its own shape. For that matter, we not only begin to see more and more fancy Chinese hardware ourselves, but also many of which actually looking more handsome than Russian equipment. I still thinks the Flanker series are fun and handsome, but the PAK-FA totally lost it. The J-20 looked much more "exotic" and alternate to the standard tri-plane layouts seen in the Raptor and the PAK-FA, so it should naturally catch more eyes. Finally, the J-20 is arguably the second newest fighter to be recognized in the world of modern birds (J-20 is second latest, while J-21 is the newest), so it's exciting to include it.

And finally, let's all be honest. The J-20 is much more beautifully shaped with an aura of mystery around it. We watchers on this forum spent pages going off-topic wondering what sort of new stuffs and features would we see on this bird, and even getting into heated arguments just simply discussing the prospects of TVC being on the production models. And when the neat side weapons rack came out, we all jizzed a bit in our pants(admit it. you had to wipe yourself, but please don't share that with us here) This is the fun and exciting part about watching this aircraft, and no doubt it would be hot to feature that in a modern video game. Giving the F-22 something to pit against, with the PAK-FA and J-20, sets a perfect balance of things.

All in all, J-20 is your Samsung S4, PAK-FA is your iPhone 5, and F-22 is your iPhone 4.

I guess that would make the F35 the Nokia Lumia and only one running Windows Mobile :D.

The Lumia runs Windows Phone, not Windows Mobile. The difference is pretty huge.

Aside from that, there's so many different Lumias, a comparison to the F-35 probably isn't far off the mark. Although the Lumias are generally cheaper in price though, so I guess that's where the similarities end.
