After touchdown at the airbase, avionics problem causes the plane to pull up rapidly and become uncontrollable. Pilot attempted to regain control by pushing down the stick but was forced to eject after 4.4s. The pilot did not survive.

The main content of this program: At 12:59 on April 27, 2016, Zhang Chao piloted the J-15 carrier-based fighter jet into the landing route in the land-based flight simulation course. However, the "Flying Shark" just landed and taxied for 2 seconds when a voice alarm suddenly came from the radio. The nose of the fighter plane lifted instantly and left the ground. Zhang Chao's action was to push the stick with all his strength to stop the nose from tilting up and try to save it. The fighter, after 4.4 seconds, failed to save the fighter, and Zhang Chao was forced to parachute. Because he missed the best time for skydiving, at 15:08 on April 27, 2016, Zhang Chao died heroically after the rescue was invalid.

Which indigenous engines are expected for upgrading the J-15's capabilities, which is needed to replace the Russian engines currently on J-15? Is it one of the WS-10 engines?

Many are claiming that the Russian engines currently powering J-15 are underpowered, which limited the payload and fuel that the J-15s could carry when operating from Liaoning and Shandong.

I'm having a hard time finding any sources on the supposed indigenous engines that would be replacing the Russian engines on J-15. No English sources I came across seem to mention about it.

I would not call them underpowered. It is just what you get without catapults. But the more power to weight ratio you can get the better.

More recent Russian versions to the AL-31, like the engine used in initial versions of the J-20, have more power.
For China to put the WS-10 on the J-20 it means it has matched or probably surpassed even those engines on performance.

If I was China I would use those WS-10 engines used on the latest J-20 on the J-15 successor.

Can you give me a source other than hearsay on the underpowered nature of the J-15 or is it entirely based on conjecture which I unfortunately assume? Because it sounds absolutely ridiculous..

You cannot simply swap out an engine for a newer models you might think doable with a car -- why would you think an aircraft would be any easier? Look at how the j-10 had to be essentially redesigned to a major degree for the intake.

Honestly this kind of question beguiles me to the extent that why on earth someone would even ask that here? Why not give a c-130 f119s?

Should WS15 equip y20's so it can become a supersonic bomber? Is that your question? Come on...

Apparently the first clear image of at least a part of the improved J-15B (?) - serial variant of the J-15D - clearly showing toned-down markings in different position, no PLA symbol, new formation lights, the PL-10-typical AAM wing-tip pylons and different engines.
