J-15 carrier fighter thread

To admit I find this discussion a bit strange since it seems to veer into a direction where some might suggest the PLAN is stupid since they don't have enough airplanes, not enough trainers and so on.

My point is that by our standard the PLAF has a lack of this and that but I'm sure there must be a reason for this, at least right now and as such our efforts should be to find out this or these reasons/s instead of discussion in circles.

Just my two Cents.

Thank you for your two cents, no one here has suggested anything of the kind. People ask questions when you are building two additional aircraft carriers and seemingly, there are n fixed wing fighter aircraft in production.

It may well be that they plan to rotate the carriers in and out of service, more likely they will fly a dozen off each boat as to my knowledge we have never seen more than around a dozen? 13? on the Liaoning?

There are rumors that 002 would have been built in addition. The aircraft carrier would not have been provided in the original plan. Maybe that's the reason?

A large-scale training for pilots is not necessary before 003 is delivered.

As already noted in mid-July, Interesting again, the PLAN Naval Aviation's J-15s received some changes to their serials (see no. 19, 21, 23, 24). They are now only two digit numbers and they added a slightly revised flag plus the PLAN title.

IMO it is more likely this pattern:

100 renamed 01
101 renamed 02
102 renamed 03
...
...
122 renamed 23
123 renamed 24

However I think for a confirmation we need to see their construction numbers.

here we see the canards at "rest", at their maximum downward deflection! I rather doubt they have nearly this much "upward" deflection?
