I guess now the prize goes to whomever can find an authentic picture of a J-15 of number 118 or higher.

What is the prize Jeff ? holiday to the USA and spend a night at your place admiring your collections? .....

Actualy with 16 whose saying 4 for training and 12 for a Sqn the Liaoning have only 1/2 Sqns next year the 2nd seems they build about 10 by year.

And 2nd CV if it is commissioned for 2019 get just her J-15 for this year.

But with 48 combat coded necessary get about 10 normaly 12 for training, one other Sqn an OCU.

With Tailnumbers from #100 to #117 it looks like only one squadron for everything, training on land and operation from the carrier. A second squadron would have tailnumbers like #200 to #2xx, I guess.

...and there still could be more than the 18 in that first build. We just may not have seen them yet.

We do know that #117 was lost however.

Okay, I will list pics of all of the J-15 aircraft I have found, which now include the 6 prototypes, and the 18 production aircraft, 100-117.

Somewhere in the internet I read about prototype #557, but I never saw a picture. Do somebody know the truth about #557? And what about the doubleseater, is it real? Has it a tailnumber?

The two-seater J-15 is real...but shrouded in mystery with no recent pics.

Just these older ones I have had for some time now:




What with the J-11BS and the J-16 out there it may seem easy to get them mixed up, except that the J-15S definitely has the canards and you know it as soon as you see it.

@Deino are you aware of any new photos of this aircraft, the J-15S?
