While for the J-10, it is indeed a review of the TNI AU, we want the best alutsista platforms, which can indeed help us to realize the current policy that is indeed developed and continued by Pak Menhan Sjafrie from Pak Prabowo when he served as Menhan, to strengthen the Nusantara Trisula Shield," said Karo Infohan Setjen

Though chances are remote, the shitposter in me wants to see J-10 and Rafale flying in the same colors.

Rumor from famous Chinese aircraft photographer that Egyptians want free J-10C China to provide US style military aid.
the USA's "Aid" is not actually aid, it's just called that for their interior affairs, this money is a part of Camp David Treaty between Egypt & Israel and USA is a moderator in that deal, it also gives Israel the double amount of money for that treaty -- that 1 type of "aid" money Israel takes.

So Egypt can't ask china for that, China can't offer a deal like that, because there's no context for it -- no Camp David Treaty.
China's deal with Pakistan most likely will be a precedence and a blueprint for future deals to supply china's air systems to other countries, and most of the times, and Egypt will look for something like it.

By the way, the USA doesn't give this for free, they get:
  • the large part of the aid is given as for military systems, egypt can only buy from america with that money, and can't get anything that congress doesn't agree to give - like BVR capabilities - and that money is used to control how Egypt design, shape and build it's army.
  • this military aid is also used to pressure Egypt to not go for a capability that the USA doesn't want it to have, this pressure doesn't work always, especially after 2013. But even if it doesn't work, it slows down their ability to procure and field this capability into service, they need to negotiate most of the deals in secret,...etc.
The USA even pressure Egypt for it's missile capability like Scuds missiles, and missile test facilities, and pressure their cooperation with other nations like China North Korea...etc. This pressure doesn't work all the time, but Egypt cooperation/Development slows down because they don't want to push it to far and clash with US.
  • Also logistics benefits, they get the right to transport their military aircraft across Egypt aerospace, the priority to transport across the Suez Canal in 2 Days maximum - they don't wait in line basically - so they buy time to make their hegemony strategy work across the globe.

PS: didn't want to include this in J-10 forum and move it to the Africa forum, but as this was discussed in multiple replies I've put it here.

Came to me how transformative this aircraft can be for either side in Ukraine.

For Ukraine - direct ability to counter Russian air raids (effectively suppressing glide bomb attacks), at leas than half of flanker fuel burn and maintenance effort.
More sorties for CAS and strike at the same time.

For Russia - same amount of glide bombing for a fraction of cost, as j-10 self escorts for a fraction of price of flanker glide bomb package. Massive savings for attrition campaign, freeing flankers for duties where their qualities are advantageous.

Effective CAS (via targeting pod and guided rockets, unlike su-25 lofting dumb rockets) as a bonus.
