If I’m not mistaken this would be 142.34 kN??? IMO impossible, since this is the thrust rating often given for the J-20‘s WS-10C but not for the WS-10B.

this is WS-10B and maximum thrust reached at 143kn.
WS-10C maximum thrust has over 150kn.

@Blitzo sir confirmed many times, WS-10C is quite powerful enough for J-20 and WS-15 is now luxury for the fighter jet.
I'm not sure if "powerful enough for J-20" - which was also valid for the AL-31FN, can be translated into "maximum thrust reached at 143kB".
As such I would be indeed interested, if @Blitzo confirms 143kN for the WS-10B and the J-10C!?
They probably copied the number from the internet. WS10B was always marked as 144kN. That does not make it accurate. Also, for this engine, the manufacturer's designation might not be WS10B
Realistically, if the engine for J10/J11 reached 130kN in 2008, the newer revisions are expected to improve the thrust in the next 10 years, without changing product names. So I think in 2020, ~140kN is reasonable
The engine was initially known as WS-10A, then with FADEC, it becomes WS-10B (on the internet) then another internet name WS-10C is assigned to the engine on J-20. These engines may differ in features, not by thrust, and all of them can share the same improvements being made continuously.

The thrust figures given for the J-10C's engine are entirely plausible and "impossible" is an inappropriate term here.

Yes it is, but we have seen similar official date released by the PAF or PAC - for the JF-17 - which were so much off. As such we have seen similar wrong data before and I’m not sure if simply one from the PAF staff googled a bit and used this.
Well I do wonder were they got that empty weight figure of 21.495lbs from??
