When the J-35 gets the go-ahead for mass production, would Shenyang also be solely focused on the J-35 production line as well?

Since I could see the enormous benefits of focusing and specializing one one single aircraft model, with effeiciency and speed of pumping out fighter jets being massively improved.
Just build more production lines for pumping out more planes.

I doubt they will stop J-16 production any time soon.
Perhaps they should consider moving J-16 production to wherever in Xian they made the JH-7.
the big difference between J10 and J16 is that J10 can be exported, so it makes sense to open another line for it while Chengdu reorient to J20. with J10C being a top notch 3/3.5gen fighter, I can see Pakistan acquiring more of them in the future, and other countries too potentially. but the chance of J16 being available for export is very low, for a variety of reasons, and I don't see its production continuing for long enough into the future to justify opening new production lines. my guess is shenyang will produce J16 at its current rate for a while, then sustain a low rate of production for much longer as it focuses on J35.

J-10C is 4.5 Gen fighter

A little fun fact: China currently uses Gen 1-4 not Gen 1-5 for example, J-20 is 4th gen and J-10 is 3.5 gen.

For the reason they've decided it to be that way I have no clue, maybe someone else knows.
They basically skipped the 1st gen and went right to gen 2, that's why.

And when I mean skipped, it's that the PLAAF directly got into gen 2 planes, without 'really flying' gen 1 planes (figthers that is).

Atleast, that's how I understand it.

An image taken near AVIC Chengdu's factory airfield. Does it say 27 or 127 on the fuselage? Could be one of the Pakistani birds.
