J-10 Thread IV

"Amazing"? It's downright pathetic; it took merely two years for Sukhoi/HAL to induct the Su-30MKI.

The MKIs were ordered in 1996 and the first 8 were delivered in 1997, but those were actually old Russian Su30 jets (the full specifications for what the MKI should be was not even agreed at this point), and were deemed non-operational by the IAF.

The first batch of 10 "new built" Su30Ks were only delivered in Nov 1999, and were modified birds originally built for Indonesia, and that was the same for the next few batches.

The pre-production full spec MKI prototype did not even fly until November 2000, and the delivery of the first batch of full spec MKI prototypes did not happen until early 2002.

That's 6 years just to get the first flying full spec prototypes delivered to the customer, so I have no idea where your 2 years to get inducted figure came from.

The step up from J10A to J10B/C is actually more akin to the Eurofighter Typhoon Trench1 to Trench 4bs, and I will leave you to look up how long that is taking.

It took more than 2 years for Su-30MKI to get to its final form. Many more than that. You should read up on the entire development cycle of Su-30.

Also, the cockpit looks to be J-10A that we saw a while ago with the exception of new HUD.

I was hoping to see a single piece cockpit like the F-35 on the J-10C.:(

Didn't we saw 213 just a month ago ? And now we are already seeing 223. Is Chengdu now building 10 J-10's per month ?
I'm not sure if they can build 10 per month, but 6 is definitely possible.

If I'm not mistaken, you just reiterated the fact that it merely took two years for the Su-30MKI to go from prototype to production (November 2000 to 2002). The J-10B, on the other hand, took seven years.

Granted, the newer J-10C variant seems to be moving at a much quicker pace, having made its maiden flight in December 2013 and with over 20 units built merely 2 years later.
