Just something I've been wondering, are smaller fighters naturally better at anti air missions due to smaller RCS, or do larger fighters still have an advantage because they can fit larger radars?
I feel like its complicated... larger heavy fighters (usually) have more fuel, larger number of missiles and better avionics suite & radar which may be quite helpful in an engagement, given that one does not, and in fact cannot just throw in however many fighters one wants into a specific airspace (AKA significant numbers advantage would be relatively unlikely). But again generally speaking heavy fighters are more expensive and takes longer to maintain, so it is entirely possible that smaller fighters can better maintain a control of an airspace by being more capable to patrol and defend said airspace due to it being easier to keep in fit shape.

IMO in the end the best scenerio would be a mix of both types and let them work together to cover each other's weaknesses (which is also what many air forces seems to have been gravitating towards)

What will the Chinese Government be thinking about now after the overthrow of the Pakistan Government and the possibility of a more pro American regime replacing it given the recent delivery of state of the art Chinese J10C to Pakistan's Air-force? I imagine that the USA would love to analyze the J10C in detail and test fly it against US fighters. What are the odds of that occurring?

If they were worried about that they wouldn't have sold J-10 in the first place. Or put it a different way, would the US worry about China getting data on how F-16 performs, either via Pakistan or otherwise?

The F16 fighters that Pakistan have are not state of the art by any standards whereas the J10C is late model Chinese tech. I wonder just what degree of downgrade the Pakistan Air-force J10C received, if any?

I was having the same worry, but then I realized I was over-anxious over nothing.
the average Pakistani is very pro-China, and the military has a strong relationship with its Chinese counterpart.
so a change of government in Pakistan should not have any major impact on the transfer of high-tech military equipment to it, or so I hope.

I hope you are correct in your reasoning on this as the state of the world at the moment is no joke and chances that need not be taken should not be taken.

There is nothing to worry about. China considered all these factors before allowing export to Pakistan. The day that china cannot even feel at ease to export to Pakistan is the day that china should just stop exporting.

There is nothing to worry imo. The cooperation between China and Pak willfurther deepen and accelerate under the present regime.

Chinese were not very happy with IK regime due to CPEC progress.

Hi just a little off topic im not sure why China will downgrade J10 one specific to PAF as these been exported first time to another country in Chinese history will supplying state of the art fighter so if we come to a conclusion in time of J10 facing Rafale one can understand Chinese don’t want to field a mediocre fighter in front of its adversary
if we talk about f16 that can be to some extent dow grade coz loads of other countries of the world are using F16 and USA doesn’t need any show off to sell these to anybody
so at the end of my rant my apologies for off topic but yes PAF got the best stuff from Chinese side please do keep in mind J10 can face a border skirmish one day before china engage themselves with Rafale
thank you
