With the proliferation of the J10C model, which should be far better at air to air than the J10A, are the J10A brigades focusing more on air to ground and/or CAS missions?

A lot of them are handed to second line forces or even flight academies.

@Maikeru

Just to expand.

There are still a number of units which are still using the J-7, mostly in lower priority theatre commands.

So what should be happening is these units are retiring their J-7s and getting the J-10A.
These J-10As are coming from front-line units which have just received the new J-10C.

I suspect the J-10A are still focusing on air-to-air because:
1. air superiority would still be heavily contested in the event of a China-US conflict.
2. there's sufficient missile forces and strike/attack aircraft available on other airframes.

Also, the US version of hi-lo, where -lo is responsible for the bulk of routine strike missions, isn't exactly mandatory for other nations in the first place.
It makes sense - that's undeniable - but there are significant downsides, too.

As per my observation, J10A Diferrent Nose Cone & Air Intake from J10B & J10C...on J10B there is 1 Antena on the dorsal spine while C hosting 2, secondary C model have different radar (comparatively large nose cone)

would love to know more from the expert though?
