MANPADS are extremely effective against slow moving aircraft - rotary wing helicopters and cargo/civilian planes in particular. However there hasn't been any reliable instances of fast moving fighter jets being struck down by a MANPAD.
The range of a typical MANPAD is also limited to ~20,000 feet. Fighters like the J-10 can safely drop laser guided bomb at medium altitude where they are relatively safe from AAA and MANPADS.... but not so much SAM missiles. Operating at medium altitude would also give ample opportunity to identify launch of a MANPAD or SAM missile, dispense chaff and flare countermeasures, as well as ample block of altitude to defeat missiles and/or egress from the launch area.
Fact of the matter is the J-10, like the F-16CJ, as a light weight fighter is an ideal platform to serve the Wild Weasel SEAD/DEAD mission set... in fact I'm pretty sure they're heavily featured in the annual Golden Dart air-to-surface training exercise/competition where SEAD/DEAD is seemingly the feature event.... and LGBs alongside anti-radiation missiles are the go-to weapons for SEAD/DEAD.
