Now that is a outdated cold war-era pilot uniform. Don't they have modernized g-suits for J-10 pilots?

He seems to have some straps to constrain circulation in his legs which is one of the things a G-suit is supposed to do at least.

My guess is not all PLA aviation regiments are getting upgrades at the same time.
I doubt, say, a J-20, Su-35, or other frontline aviation unit won't have modern G-suits.
For all we know this guy could have been flying a J-7 until recently.

Given the multiple space suits China developed for its space program it is quite clear they dominate the relevant technologies quite well.
