J-10 Thread IV

The Chinese have a reputation for cloning products and technologies.
I don't see it as being different than the J-20; there's lots of features on the J-20 that look like they were copied off someone else (stealth shaping, chines, DSI, lerx canard lerx delta formula), as well as stuff that's unique (anhedral-dihedral canard layout, railed sidebays) but when you put everything together it's a unique fighter.

Might as well say everyone copied from the Wright brothers’

Indeed. And as a full-time computer engineer and part-time component architect, even I can see quite differences in fluid mechanics will already make the whole design, and idea behind, of an airplane totally disparate. And so I will say: it's me puzzled why so many people insist to say J10 is a clone of Lavi, with so mountain evidence it's NOT.
-- there is people here quote Popular Mechanics as source of this claim. I can only say it's the other way around - it reveal how that magazine can have (quite) mistakes. Check w/ some true mechanic practitioners and you will know.

Indeed and that's exactly why I kindly asked @MastanKhan for an explanation ... but so far with no succes.

you don’t get it. People say J10 is a Lavi clone to prove Chinese aren’t capable of designing anything on their own. They have to copy from someonr
I believe I do get the point, though I'm NOT used to deal with conspiracy theory (if there is one). Here I'm simply aiming those "blind followers" who may or can NOT understand basic physics & mechanics: "copying" an airplane is NOT duplicating a cake - just enlarge the size and it still taste sweet!!

Again exactly my point to @MastanKhan, who asked me to give a "technical reasons" why I still deny the copy-theory.
In fact I would reverse the duty to prove and so far he still refuses to answer exactly, why the J-10 regardless all aerodynamic changes, size enlargements and different materials used must be rated still a copy?

As such I think he is the one, who owes us a "technical reasons".

Iran is/was in the market for new fighters? Su-30, J-10, and Mig-35 offer quite a range. Like in the market for a truck but a bulldozer will be considered too.

I mean there's been rumors floating around the J-10 export to Iran for ages. If China exports J-10s to Iran, I hope the Iranians demand that the Chinese stuff TVC onto it; a TVC-ed J-10 would be a really interesting fighter for 4th generation ops. Nothing that a F-35 can't swat out of the sky, but a good competitor for regional Rafales and Eurofighters.

J10 is very very unlikely to be sold to Iran, or any new fighter for the foreseeable. Iran doesn’t have the money or the freedom to buy. How are they going to pay for it? Even if sanctions were released the nations industry have basically collapsed. Unless they traded oil for arms it’s a suckers bet.

well, if America manages to piss China off enough, then nothing is impossible.
