MAWS located in the DSI sides seems to be covered or maybe blurred.
Any clear photo of J-10C MAWS (front and back)???
They seems a little bit small compared with the previously fited in J-10B base tail.

Regards

I however would be more interested in the serial number ??

Has there recently been any reveal about any data pertaining to j10 fuel capacity or range? Stuff like avic promo materials and such, something at least half official? External fuel tank holdings, internal fuel, range pertsining to a specific mission etc? (I know of that 1650km basic range figure from zhuhai but I am seeking for further info, other than that disclosure)

Why compare a single-engined lightweight fighter to a dual-engined mediumweight fighter? There's no point.

Because it helps people to understand where the J-10 fits in the fighter blood line, the Eurofighter is a similar configuration aft mounted delta...

I am always struck when seeing the F-35 with the F-22, how much smaller the F-35 actually is..

and it is very instructive to see the J-10 next to the J-16 or J-20, it gives you "perspective", and thank you Sino Soldier for those numbers by the way.

New serial of a known unit, 34th Brigade, spotted. Another one for the gallery @huitong.

From here:

thanks for posting the video Jed, lots of common fighter pilot traits, using the models to demonstrate maneuvering, the one gentleman has a fairly large model, which in many ways is much easier to visualize the a more accurate rate of turn, turn radius etc...

Notice also as the pilot talks to the interviewer, he illustrates the maneuvers with his hand, almost all pilots do that as a matter of course when they are trying to explain or visualize a maneuver...

some very good pictures of J-10's, Flankers, and I'm guessing F-7 or F-8s, I'm really not familiar with the various Mig-21 follow ons??

anyway thank-you, I didn't get all the way through it, and of course I don't understand the Chinese language, but seeing the pilots laughing and giving each other some Krap is pretty kool.

Also notice that the pilot touches his aircraft as he walks around, grabbing things, giving them a gentle wiggle to make sure they are firmly attached, all very interesting..

Since I was never really happy with that one disclosure about J-10's range, stating 1650 km for "Basic range", here's the result of my analysis, flawed as it may be.

Using photographs of J-10 and F-16, and known values such as missile lengths for comparison, i got the following dimensions for J-10s drop tanks:
Big ones: 5.98 meters long, 0.65 m in diameter.
Centerline: 4.57 m long, 0.58 m in diameter.

Sizing them to F-16's tanks and their known quantities, adjusting for shape difference, I got the following fuel hold approximations:
Big ones: 1670 liters (440 gallons)
Centerline: 900 liters (240 gallons)

That would suggest drop tank hold of 3520 kg, compared to USAF F-16 of 3267 kg.

Internal fuel hold is, sadly, unknown. So i used other similar aircraft to approximate it. F16 holds 3200 kg, M2000 holds 3300 kg (similar because of the delta wing?), Gripen E holds 3400 kg.
Conservatively, I approximated 3200 kg for J-10's internal fuel hold.

Then I used ferry ranges of those planes, their total fuel holds and fuel consumption of their planes. Luckily, fuel consumption for Al-31 is known. Using all that, I approximated that if F-16C uses 1.86 kg of fuel for every km it crosses, J-10 should use between 1.9 and 2 kg for every km it crosses. Which finally brought me to final ferry range estimate of J-10A: between 3350 and 3550 km. I am probably wrong, of course, as this is just a crude analysis, but I think I am not more than 5-10% off.
