What does this mean ? That the J-10C's without MAW can't see missile's coming from behind ?
What is the status of the J-10 program ? Still in production ? But at a lower rate ? Or has stopped for now to give priority to J-20. Does the J-10C with MAW indicate a new batch ?

No idea of J-10Cs that have already been produced will have MAWS backfitted.

J-10s are likely still in production, but our ability to track production of J-10 airframes and J-20 airframes from CAC are reaching SAC levels of inscrutability.

We certainly might see CFT in later J-10s but wing tip hardpoints are unlikely especially coupled with CFTs. They will want to preserve some kinematic performance while gaining all that extra weight. Unless future J-10s can somehow be built to use WS-15 engines, I doubt we'll see massive weight gains, LO shaping with drop away missile bays, or sacrifices to aerodynamic performance like cropping the wings for wing tip rails.

This news has been in PAF circles, as PAF is very close to finalize the type.

Remember, few years back PAF signed for 36 FC20s but they hold because frequent developments on J10 program (J10B/C & now D). Even reports are that number will touch around 60 - 80 maybe more on later stage due to no more F16s.

Sorry to remain sceptical, but isn't this more a wish at the PDF only?

If they were to design a LO J10, one of the most obvious things to do would be to add Typhoon style semi-recessed fuselage hardpoints. With folding fin AAMs and maybe either a drop away, or hinged LO cover, they might be able to achieve operationally useful LO capability without a full internal bay.

Although that will be a lot of work for a bit of a half measure, and given the costs and timescales involved, it will probably be better to just start with a clear slate design built around the WS15 to both give them more growth potential to add in a full sized bay, but also share engines with the J20.

Such a plane will probably share a lot of aerodynamic similarities with the J10 and parts commonality with J20, and may well be the rumoured single engine 5th gen CAC is working on.

now the rear facing MAWS are on the tip of the tail.
in particular, there are now front facing MAWS on the side of the air intake, which is pretty sweet.

Agreed ... I always wondered if or since I must have missed them, where the J-10B had their forward facing sensors.

On about 70 possible find one...

Because India is not a real threat
