J10 and it's variant is simply waste of money along with the lame AL31F.

Might as well put those money into procuring J31 with WS 13E engines.

A lot of strategic as well.

A waste for whom ? ... and second, the J-10 is NOT using the AL-31F but the FN and the latest B/C-models even the uprated FN Series 3.

As such I don't know what's Your complaint, but for long the AL-31 was the only engine available, so it was not a waste but a simple necessity.

For all later models - esp. since it seems as if there are still issues with the WS-10 - I also do not see it as a waste. This engine is reliable and mature ... and losses also occur with other types, esp. single engined ones.

So what's Your issue?

Luckily for the PLAAF, procurement decisions are made by officials with classified information and intimate knowledge on J-10X/J-31's overall performance, strengths, weaknesses, costs, as well as the need of the air force, not by angry internet posters who like to bitch about things they don't understand.

You do not teach us anything, almost for all and not new !:mad:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is the J-10D model going to be a two seater aircraft based on the J-10C? Would it have AESA radar and DSI intake. If not, are there any indication of J-10's "C" model having two-seater version.

To admit I think to tell anything for sure for the J-10D is much too early ! AFAIK nothing is known other than that it exist.

There are two (or three, depending on who you ask) camps regarding the speculation of the J-10D:

1. Many (most) people, including Henri K., believe that it's a twin-seat variant with CFTs and other incremental upgrades to the basic airframe, complemented by newer avionics as well.

2. Some people, including reliable "big shrimps", believe the 10D incorporates RCS-reducing measures such as LOAN nozzles and possible airframe changes.

3. A few select individuals think that the designation "J-10D" is merely a cover for a single-engined 5th generation aircraft that supposedly beat the FC-31 for the PLAAF tender.

Are these from a film? I ask because the aspect ratio seems to be from a movie. If so, how can I get my hands on it?
