It seems the maiden flight of J-10C (201) is ignored by the forum. Anyway, another pic. See how much attention PLAAF put on J-10C!

Noticed that all the velvet chairs were empty when the J-10 took off, but were all filled when the J-20 took off? I would say all the attention was squarely on the J-20. I don't think this was an unveil of the J-10C, but that of the 2011. The J-10 was simply an escort plane.

I also think the focus is on the J-20. The J-10c may be more ahead in testing schedule the the J-20, but notice that it is the J-20 that is dressed up somewhat.

Another possibility is that this notional "J-10C" pictured in the previous post is actually a temporary testbed for the real thing. Note how it has a lot of shoddy workmanship showing as well as divisions between different parts. Now, J-10 project head stated clearly that the aircraft would undergo so-called comprehensive upgrades; well, this plane here doesn't show any visible upgrades at all. The situation would be similar to that of the single J-11B prototype that has been equipped with an AESA radar, presumably for use on later blocks or retrofits.

Here's what a logical "ground-attack" J-10C would comprise of:
- twin seats
- CFT
- dorsal spine
- extra EW/ECM equipment

I think irgored is probably a too harsh description but most of all simply externaly it is nothing more than a J-10B - and as such no longer that interesting - with a so far unknown different designation.

I for myself I'm not even sure about that "C" designation ... and as long as I don't get a nice description of what it really is I will take it as a specialised B !

I don't see any significant shoddy workmanship on 201 compared to other J-10Bs to be honest,

I also think it is strange that the insiders are saying that plane is J-10C, but I think it is too early to call judgement.

IMO, the 201 is likely a parallel development for a different customer, could be the navy, or could be for a export customer. 201 is a strange number, definitely not batch 2 production nor J-10C prototype (which likely would be numbered 104X for prototype since J-10B prototypes are numbered 103X).

It was supposed to be super exciting to see a new plane, but I don't feel it this time...

Meet J-10C. Anyone can tell the difference from J-10B?
