Considering that the JF17 has a combat range of 1,300km, the J10's combat range should be considerably greater.

Don't be fooled into thinking the J10 has short legs just because they are usually seen with drop tanks.

Just compare the size of China to the UK or France or Sweden. If J10s were operating in any of those small to medium sized European countries with a far higher density of airports and far more tankers, it probably wouldn't bother with drop tanks much either. OTOH, if the Eurocanards were operating in China, with it's vast territory and far lower density of airports and fewer tankers, they will probably want tanks most of the time themselves.

Eagle Hannan, a reliable Pakistan military insider
The range of J-10 was reported and talked about when J-10 first came out. We don't need Eagle Hannan to tell us what it is. Get better sources.

The question is what it will be when J-10B comes out.

We have to be very careful about assigning an absolute number to range, because they are different under different flight profile and load.

I wasn't talking about range, I was talking about composites.

Does the J-10B have a double-wheeled nose gear? That's unusual for a land-based fighter.

Not really. All of the following land based figthers have double wheeled nose gears, and that's just ottomh.

Mirage F1, F5, 2000, Mig25, 29, 31 , Viggen, Gripen.
