Apparently the AESA is modular and can be enlarged or shrinked based on the needs of the platform( Eg JF 17, J 11B, J 15, or even J 20)

The 1152 T/R modules one is apparently for the J 10B

J-11B has a black nose cone. That one is either for the J-10B or the J-15. Both are rumored to feature electronically scanned radars.

Not sure about exact numbers, but I remember reading that an AESA retrofit offered for flankers had TR module number exceeding 1500 to a large degree.
